Dr. Al Qurashi is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Dar Al-Hekma College, one of the first and leading private Colleges for women in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Under her leadership, Dar Al-Hekma College received the American institutional accreditation with the “Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). She has forged academic partnerships with world class universities such as the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University; the University of Colorado; University of California, Berkeley; Columbia University; Lehigh University and Lebanese American University, among others. Dr. Al-Qurashi has actively cultivated partnerships with academic, cultural and scientific institutions and organizations around the world to enhance opportunities for College growth and expansion. She has promoted academic and cultural exchange programs with institutions of distinction and strengthened collegial relations with individuals, scholars and scientists, through the promotion and support of their scholarly activities.
Dr. Al-Qurashi has been commissioned to serve as a member of the national team to develop the Strategic Plan of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which is aimed at transforming the country into a knowledge-based society within the 10 years. She is actively sought for advice and council in the development of the educational plans at various government and non-government institutions such as SAGIA.
Dr. Al-Qurashi has participated as well as presented papers in numerous national and international conferences. She is the co-founder of a women’s NGO for participation in the United Nation’s Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing, China in 1995 and has organized three major international conferences in the Middle East on women and development issues. Dr. Al-Qurashi has a long standing interest in serving and advancing youth.
