The conference, chaired by Lord Nazir Ahmed, aimed to explore a range of issues pertaining to the education of Muslim children.

The conference played host to over 60 delegates from all sectors, education, youth work, the council and local authorities.

FSTC was represented by Director of Projects, Dr. Okasha El Daly and Key Associate Dr. Anne-Maria Brennan, Lecturer at Southbank University. Also present was Ms. Ayshah Ismail, the FSTC Science Communication and Education Officer. Dr Brennan delivered an enlightening presentation entitled ‘1001 Inventions vs. 1001 Nights'.

The presentation highlighted the missing millennium from the Schools Curricula and from the main sources which influence public opinion and showed how a wonderful civilisation had existed during the so called "Dark Ages". Thousands of inventions from this civilisation which still affect our present life are airbrushed from history.
