The following article by Professors Menso Folkerts and Richard Lorch, from Munich University in Germany, describes the influences of Arabic sciences in the works of Jordanus de Nemore, a scholar who flourished in Western Europe in the 13th century. The scientific texts composing the Jordanus corpus in mathematics, astronomy and mechanics display some of the first influences of Arabic learning, which began to be translated into Latin few decades earlier.
